Amavasya has special significance in Hinduism. The calendar in Hinduism and in the date of Hindu Panchag varies according to the moon. What is Amavasya? This is the night when the moon is not fully visible. The night of Amavasya comes after every 30 days, it can be said that Amavasya comes once in a month. The decreasing and increasing of the moon is called paksha, there are two types of Shukla paksha and Krishna paksha.
