Kadyavarcha Ganpati Temple is a famous Hindu temple located in Matheran, Maharashtra, India. This temple is completely dedicated to Lord Ganesha. The specialty of this temple is that the idol of Lord Ganesha built in it is carved from a single boulder. This temple remains a popular tourist spot in the hill station of Matheran. The word 'Kada' in Marathi means edge and hence, this idol got its name because it is situated on the side of a mountain.
The mesmerizing scenic view can be enjoyed from the side of the temple. Beautifully painted with vibrant colours, this statue impresses the visitors with its colossal size. A short trek takes the hikers to this place. During monsoons, the sights of this place mesmerize the visitors.
The idol of Ganpati is located about 4 km from the parking lot. After this the temple is reached by foot.
How To Reach: Neral Station to Matheran by board sharing cab. Get off at point 136 (toy train marking). Start walking on the toy train track till point 158 which is just 2 kms.
