First Temple

Third Temple
It is known from the Sanskrit inscriptions, when Maharaja VijaypalDev was the ruler of Mathura, a person namedJajj in 1150 AD, builta new temple on the birthplace of Krishna. It is said to be huge and majestic. The temple was also destroyed in the early 16th century during the reign of Sikandar Lodi.
Fourth Temple
During the reign of Mughal Emperor Jahangir, a huge temple named Punru built on the birthplace of Krishna. King Veersingh Ju Dev Bundela of Orchha ruler went to set the temple height to 250 feet. It is said to be seen from Agra. At that time the building costs 33 lakh. A high wall around the wall of the temple was built, the remains of which still exist. A well was built in the southwest corner of the temple, taking the water 60 feet high and it was served for fountains. This well is still located here. In 1669 AD the temple was destroyed again and from the buildingremains a Idagah(a place of assembly for offering id-prayers) were made and still exists today.
