With the Diwali festival just around the corner, Ayodhya is abuzz with excitement and preparations for the grand Festival of Lights. Under the leadership of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath in Uttar Pradesh, the city of Lord Ram has become a shining example of brilliance during the Ayodhya Deepotsav. This spectacular festival has been steadily growing in scale and prosperity year after year since its inception in 2017.
During its inaugural Deepotsav, Ayodhya made a global statement by lighting an astounding 1,71,000 diyas, setting a remarkable world record. The following year, they outdid themselves by illuminating the city with an impressive 3,00,000 diyas. Now, with the enthusiastic participation of 25,000 volunteers from Avadh University, Ayodhya is all set to make history once again. Their ambitious goal is to light a staggering 2.1 million diyas at 51 ghats across the city. District Magistrate Nitish Kumar envisions that this upcoming festival will be nothing short of extraordinary, turning Ayodhya into a city aglow with a radiant sea of diyas.
Ayodhya, situated along the sacred banks of the Saryu River, is globally renowned as the birthplace of Lord Ram, often referred to as Maryada Purushottam Ramlala. After centuries of anticipation, on the 22nd of January, Lord Ram is poised to grace Ayodhya with his divine presence. In this historic moment, Prime Minister Modi will preside over the consecration of the divine idol of Ramlala within the grand temple.
Prior to this momentous event, Ayodhya will once again shine brightly as it hosts the globally celebrated Festival of Lights. The city is all set to dazzle the international stage by establishing a new world record during Deepotsav.
