

sañjaya uvācha
dṛiṣhṭvā tu pāṇḍavānīkaṁ vyūḍhaṁ duryodhanastadā |
āchāryamupasaṅgamya rājā vachanamabravīt ||
On observing the Pandava army standing in military formation, King Duryodhan approached his teacher Dronacharya, and said the following words.
This shloka describes the initial moments of the Mahabharata war. In this, one gets an opportunity to understand Duryodhana's character, his mindset and his conduct.
