Mantras and chanting help us in increasing concentration. We live in a world which is full of emotional joy and excitement. Our life revolves around our office work, household chores, family, children, daily upheaval, rush. Therefore, it is very difficult to stop our mind, to make it think about anything.
This is because the human brain remains constantly active and dynamic. It works continuously, it is always busy for some reason or the other. Its interest, its desire, its thinking, everything is focused on one thing or the other. And when it focuses on one thing, it loses the ability to think about anything else.
Mantra chanting is the simplest way to concentrate the brain. When a person meditates and chants his mantra, he gradually calms his brain. Thus he moves towards a stable and concentrated mind.
After coming under the influence of meditation, every limit, every obstacle, every distance, every separation starts to disappear. After this he starts realizing that he is an integral part of the universe. This experience leaves a deep impact on him, which enables him to connect his consciousness with that divine.
